How it works
The converter scans the document for GitHub Flavored Markdown tables, meaning a header row followed by a separator row of dashes, and ignores everything else. Inline formatting is removed so cells contain clean values. In the .xlsx file the header row is bold, and each table gets its own sheet when there are several.
Common uses
- Pulling a comparison table from a README or an AI chat answer into a spreadsheet to sort and chart it.
- Turning documentation tables into CSV fixtures for tests.
- Converting tables to JSON for an API mock or config file.
